Remembering Mateo and Alessia
Friends of Mateo and Alessia describe them as a beloved couple, full of life and promise. Daniele Borgia, a close friend of Alessia’s, shared, “I said you guys are going to get married. I told her you guys are going to get married, and I better be in the wedding.” Their close bond is a testament to the joy they brought to each other’s lives.
Mateo was a valued member of the school’s basketball team. The team posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, stating, “Rest in peace to our beloved player Mateo Davila. You and your family will always be in our hearts.” The post has garnered significant support from the community.
Rubin Abreu, a long-time friend of one of the victims, expressed his disbelief and sorrow. Camila Calderon, a former student, remembered Alessia as “such a light to so many of her friends.” Their friends and peers remember them as individuals who radiated positivity and kindness.
