Shocking Violence in Mississauga: Parking Dispute Leads to Double Stabbing

In a terrifying turn of events, a routine trip to a shopping plaza in Mississauga escalated into a brutal scene of violence. What began as a simple disagreement over a parking spot ended with two men fighting for their lives and a manhunt for a dangerous suspect.

The Incident: A Heated Altercation in Cooksville

On a recent Saturday evening, Peel Regional Police responded to reports of a disturbance in a parking lot located in the Cooksville neighbourhood, near the intersection of Dundas Street West and Parkerhill Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult men suffering from serious stab wounds.

The victims, a man in his 30s and another in his 40s who are known to each other, were rushed to the hospital. While their injuries were severe, officials have confirmed that both are now in stable condition. It is a miracle that both survived what investigators describe as a “terrifying incident.”

Suspects and Charges

Police acted swiftly to secure the area, leading to the immediate arrest of one individual. Ali Halimi, a 30-year-old resident of Mississauga, has been charged with assault. However, the primary aggressor remains on the loose.

A second male suspect, believed to be the one who inflicted the stab wounds and who is still in possession of a large knife, is currently wanted for attempted murder. Due to the nature of the crime, authorities warn that this individual should be considered armed and dangerous.

Speaking with the media, Const. Tyler Bell-Morena emphasized the senselessness of the violence. He highlighted that the entire incident stemmed from a dispute over a parking space—a situation that could have been avoided entirely.

“The best thing to do when faced with a ‘heated’ encounter like this is to just walk away. It’s just not worth what we saw happen here.”

Police are currently reviewing “graphic” video footage and interviewing numerous witnesses to ensure a positive identification and swift capture of the remaining suspect.
