La Ronde: New Ownership and Future Plans for Montreal’s Iconic Amusement Park

La Ronde Changes Hands: A New Chapter for Montreal’s Beloved Park

Montreal’s iconic amusement park, La Ronde, has a new owner! The park has been sold to EPR Properties, a Kansas City-based real estate investment trust, in a deal worth US$342 million (approximately CAD$467 million). This transaction includes six other Six Flags parks across the United States.

Following the completion of the sale, La Ronde will be leased by EPR Properties to La Ronde Opérations, a newly formed company responsible for the park’s operations. This new entity is spearheaded by Kieran Burke, who also operates Village Vacances Valcartier in Quebec City and Calypso Waterpark in Limoges, Ontario.

What Does This Mean for Visitors?

La Ronde Opérations has assured the public that there are no immediate organizational changes planned. Visitors can expect La Ronde to “remain the park they know and love.” Crucially, all previously sold seasonal passes will be honoured for the 2026 season.

This change in ownership marks a significant moment in La Ronde’s history. Originally opened on Île Sainte-Hélène for Expo 67, the park was acquired by Six Flags from the City of Montreal in 2001. The sale to EPR Properties signals a new era for the park, with a focus on continued operation and visitor experience.
