Estrie Couple Strikes it Rich with Loto-Québec’s ‘Back to the Future’ Lottery

A couple from Estrie is celebrating a significant win after claiming a $100,000 prize from a Loto-Québec ticket purchased at a brand-new grocery store in Sherbrooke. Francine Marier and Yves Lapierre are among the 20 grand prize winners of the ‘Retour vers le futur’ (Back to the Future) lottery.

Lucky Ticket Purchased at New Sherbrooke IGA

The winning ticket was purchased at the IGA Extra located on Lionel-Groulx Boulevard in Sherbrooke, which recently opened its doors. This new store proved to be exceptionally lucky for the Estrie couple.

A Winning Tradition

For Francine and Yves, playing the lottery is a cherished tradition. “I buy the lottery tickets, and my wife scratches them,” Yves Lapierre shared with a smile. During a visit to the new Sherbrooke grocery store, he decided to purchase a ‘Retour vers le futur’ ticket. “The movie of the same name is a classic, we know it well!” they both exclaimed, recalling their purchase.

After putting away the groceries, Francine Marier scratched the ticket and discovered the incredible $100,000 prize. “Look, look, we won!” she excitedly told her husband.

Previous Lottery Success

This wasn’t the couple’s first experience with lottery winnings. “The first time we played this lottery, we won $500. And now, it’s one of the grand prizes! It’s very special,” Francine shared during their visit to Loto-Québec.
