Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” Ascends to the Top of the Alternative Airplay Chart

Noah Kahan continues his meteoric rise in the music industry with his latest hit, “The Great Divide.” Just one week after achieving the fastest ascent to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart in a decade, the song has now conquered the Alternative Airplay list dated March 7.

“The Great Divide” reached the top spot in a remarkable four weeks, marking the quickest journey to No. 1 since October 2024, when Linkin Park’s “The Emptiness Machine” achieved the same feat. This demonstrates Kahan’s growing influence and the song’s undeniable appeal to listeners.

A Second No. 1 for Noah Kahan

This marks Noah Kahan’s second time topping the Alternative Airplay chart. His previous No. 1, a collaboration with Post Malone titled “Dial Drunk,” led the chart for two weeks in 2023. Kahan’s consistent success highlights his versatility and ability to connect with a broad audience.

Continued Success and Chart Performance

Kahan’s previous hit, “Stick Season,” also enjoyed significant chart success, peaking at No. 15 on Alternative Airplay in 2024 after initially reaching No. 21 in 2023, fueled by renewed viral popularity. Currently, “The Great Divide” also holds the No. 1 position on Adult Alternative Airplay for a second consecutive week.

On the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, which encompasses all rock formats and is based on audience impressions, “The Great Divide” remains strong at its No. 2 peak, with 4.9 million audience impressions – a 9% increase for the week ending Feb. 26 (according to Luminate). The song is also gaining traction on pop radio, reaching No. 25 on Adult Pop Airplay and climbing from 37 to 32 on Pop Airplay, while also making waves on the Adult Contemporary chart.

“The Great Divide” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart on February 14. The most recent chart (dated February 28, reflecting data from February 13-19) saw the track at No. 3, bolstered by 9.9 million official U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads.
