This marks the seventh annual Revolution event, and the second consecutive year it will be hosted in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. The card boasts an impressive ten matches, including six championship clashes, with a total of eight titles on the line. Before the main event unfolds, AEW Zero Hour will kick off the action with three exciting matches, including a 21-Man Blackjack Battle Royale for the AEW National Championship and a TBS Championship bout, airing an hour before Revolution on HBO Max, YouTube, Amazon Prime, X, MyAEW and Facebook!
The Clash of Titans: MJF vs. “Hangman” Adam Page
At the heart of Revolution lies a compelling narrative: the AEW World Championship Texas Death Match between MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page. These two competitors represent almost polar opposites, yet share an undeniable drive for the same ultimate prize. Their stories are intrinsically linked to the very foundation of AEW. Both have faced setbacks and triumphs on their path to the championship.
Page’s journey saw him fall short in the inaugural AEW World Championship match at All Out 2019, but he persevered, ultimately defeating Kenny Omega at Full Gear 2021. However, his reign was short-lived. It took three years of relentless effort to reclaim the title in a grueling Texas Death Match against Jon Moxley at All In Texas last July.
MJF’s path mirrored Page’s in many ways. He initially failed to capture the AEW World Championship, needing over two years for another opportunity, finally succeeding against Jon Moxley at Full Gear 2022. His first reign lasted an impressive 406 days, yet he deliberately avoided facing Page during his eleven defenses. Their paths finally collided at Revolution last year, where Page emerged victorious in an intense battle. MJF continued to pursue the title, winning the Casino Gauntlet at All In Texas, but his attempts at Forbidden Door were again thwarted by Page.
Page’s second reign ended abruptly after 133 days at Full Gear 2025, thanks to a shocking betrayal by HOOK, allowing Samoa Joe to become AEW World Champion. A planned three-way match against Joe and Swerve Strickland was further complicated by MJF’s return, turning it into a four-way contest. MJF seized the opportunity, pinning Joe to begin his second AEW World Title reign.
Now, MJF aims to solidify his legacy as a dominant world champion, with tonight marking his sixth defense in less than 80 days across multiple continents and promotions. Page, meanwhile, earned another shot by outlasting Kenny Omega, Strickland, and Andrade El Ídolo in a series of challenging matches.
The stakes are incredibly high. Page has challenged MJF to a Texas Death Match, risking his future championship opportunities. MJF accepted, adding his own stipulation decided by a coin flip. After a rigged attempt, Page secured his desired match. The rivalry has escalated, with MJF costing Jet Set Rodeo the AEW World Trios Titles and narrowly escaping Page’s wrath. Tonight, there’s no escape from destiny.
