Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Inspires the Next Generation with FlexWork Sports Partnership
Toronto Blue Jays All-Star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is extending his impact beyond the baseball diamond, becoming the first brand ambassador for FlexWork Sports, a leading youth sports experiential company. This exciting partnership aims to bring high-quality baseball programming and unforgettable experiences to young athletes across Canada, the United States, and global markets.
The 27-year-old Guerrero Jr. has signed a two-year contract and will be the face of FlexWork Sports’ baseball initiatives. He’s committed to hosting 11 youth events over the next two years, with the first two scheduled for Hamilton, Ontario (July 30th) and Toronto (August 24th).
“I was born in Canada, play in Canada, and want to give back to the kids who grew up watching me across the country and around the world,” Guerrero Jr. stated. “This partnership gives me the platform to show them what’s possible. After hosting an incredible event with FlexWork Sports in Toronto last year, I knew I wanted to build something bigger with lasting impact.”
Why Vladimir Guerrero Jr.?
FlexWork Sports, which has collaborated with over 700 athletes including stars like Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, and Saquon Barkley, specifically sought out Guerrero Jr. after witnessing his genuine connection with children at a baseball camp last year. Over 1,200 kids attended his double-session camp in Toronto, captivated by his presence.
Adam Van Rees, FlexWork’s chief business officer, highlighted Guerrero Jr.’s unique ability to connect with young fans: “Just the way all the kids lit up when he walked in… it’s a different level when you bring that superstar level in, and layer that in with that personality.”
Forrest West, founder and CEO of FlexWork Sports, added, “One of the reasons we chose Vladdy is that he’s kind of a big kid himself. He’s running around the kids, probably more excited than a number of them. He just shined.”
More Than Just a Camp: An Experiential Approach
FlexWork Sports differentiates itself by offering immersive, high-quality events. Unlike typical athlete appearances, Guerrero Jr. and other ambassadors actively participate in camps, interacting with families, offering high-fives, and engaging in Q&A sessions. West describes their goal as creating an experience akin to a Disney performance – a major activation that leaves a lasting impression.
Founded in 2019, FlexWork Sports has rapidly expanded, growing from eight events to a projected 385 events this year, including events featuring top NFL draft picks. The company envisions long-term partnerships with key athletes, building programming that extends beyond their playing careers.
“We’re really excited about working with him for years to come, even extending into retirement,” Van Rees said. “He’s generational talent and personality, and we think there’s only a handful of guys that can really connect from a personality standpoint, as well as what their on-field ability is, and obviously, Vlad is at the top.”
With plans to host camps in Canada, the United States, and the Dominican Republic (where Guerrero Jr. spends his off-season), this partnership promises to inspire and empower the next generation of baseball players. Learn more about FlexWork Sports and their commitment to youth development.
