Key Storylines
International ‘Caps
Six Vancouver Whitecaps FC players, all 24 years old or younger, recently represented their national teams during the March international window. This included Ralph Priso (Canada), Sebastian Berhalter (United States), Rayan Elloumi (Tunisia – his first senior call-up!), Kenji Cabrera (Peru), Mihail Gherasimencov (Moldova), and Tate Johnson (United States U-21).
Renewing Rivalries: Whitecaps vs. Timbers
The ‘Caps are looking to continue their dominance over the Portland Timbers. In their last meeting on March 7th at Providence Park, Vancouver secured a convincing 4-1 victory, fueled by a brace from Brian White and goals from Tristan Blackmon and Sebastian Berhalter. The Whitecaps have outscored the Timbers 14-3 in their last four encounters and boast a 5W-1L-2D record in their last eight meetings. A win on Saturday would give Vancouver a significant six-point lead in the Cascadia Cup race.
Vaisakhi Celebration Match
Saturday’s match will also be the club’s fifth annual Vaisakhi Celebration Match, presented by MNP, featuring special activations and activities throughout the day.
The Road Ahead
