1. Dominate the Free Throw Battle

Grand Canyon boasts the No. 27-ranked defense in the nation (according to KenPom), a formidable barrier surpassed within the Mountain West only by New Mexico and San Diego State. Nevada previously faced challenges against these top defenses, scoring 73 and 68 points respectively. However, the Wolf Pack has demonstrated offensive firepower in other conference games, averaging 77.7 points. While Grand Canyon’s defense is solid across the board, particularly in limiting three-pointers and offensive rebounds – areas where Nevada excels – the Antelopes commit fouls frequently (26.5% of opponent possessions). Both teams draw a significant number of fouls, making success at the free-throw line crucial for Nevada, especially on their home court.
