
LaMelo Ball Involved in Car Crash in Uptown Charlotte
Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball was involved in a car accident on Wednesday afternoon in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. The incident occurred at the intersection of Trade and Tryon streets, causing significant damage to the vehicles involved.
What Happened?
According to witnesses, a gray Kia sedan was traveling eastbound on Trade Street when the collision occurred. LaMelo Ball was driving westbound on Trade Street and attempted to turn left onto the one-way Tryon Street, resulting in the impact. Chopper 9 SkyZoom footage showed Ball’s custom 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 with a missing front wheel, positioned on the side of the street.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing LaMelo Ball exit the Hummer and enter a Lamborghini. He appeared to be okay at the time. Both the Kia and the Hummer were subsequently towed from the scene.
Injuries and Investigation
MEDIC confirmed that one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and has not yet released details regarding who was driving each vehicle or the exact cause of the collision.
