Kenyon Sadiq Dominates NFL Combine, Setting New Tight End Records

INDIANAPOLIS – Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq sent shockwaves through the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday, blazing a trail to the top of the tight end rankings with a stunning 40-yard dash time of 4.39 seconds. This incredible feat marks the fastest time recorded by a tight end at the Combine since at least 2003, surpassing the previous record of 4.40 seconds held by Vernon Davis (2006) and matched by Dorin Dickerson (2010).

The 6-foot-3 1/8, 241-pound Sadiq wasn’t just fast in a straight line. He showcased exceptional athleticism across multiple drills. He initially led the tight ends in the broad jump with a leap of 11 feet, 1 inch, before Vanderbilt’s Eli Stowers narrowly edged him out with a jump of 11 feet, 3 inches. Sadiq continued to impress with a vertical leap of 43 1/2 inches, only to be surpassed again by Stowers’ impressive 45 1/2 inch jump – the best by a tight end since 2003.

Sadiq’s Performance: A Detailed Look

  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.39 seconds (New Tight End Record)
  • Broad Jump: 11’ 1”
  • Vertical Leap: 43 1/2”

Despite Stowers’ strong showing in the jumping events, Sadiq reclaimed the spotlight with his blistering 40-yard dash, finishing ahead of Stowers’ time of 4.51 seconds. NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah currently ranks Sadiq as the No. 16 overall prospect, and his Combine performance is only solidifying his position.

Sadiq enjoyed a breakout 2025 college season, amassing 51 receptions for 560 yards (averaging 11.0 yards per catch) and a league-leading eight touchdown catches among all FBS tight ends. He earned second-team Associated Press All-American honors and was named the Big Ten Conference Tight End of the Year, though he narrowly missed out on the John Mackey Award (nation’s top tight end) to Stowers.

Entering the Combine, Sadiq was already widely considered the top tight end in the draft class and a likely first-round pick. His exceptional workout numbers have only fueled the hype surrounding his potential. Analysts are now even more convinced of his NFL readiness.
