Flying High for the Habs: Chrono Aviation’s Epic Charter for Montreal Canadiens Fans
Montreal is currently gripped by an electric energy. With the Montreal Canadiens battling it out in the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes, the passion of the fanbase has reached a fever pitch. While most fans are cheering from their couches or the Bell Centre, a select group of lucky supporters is taking their loyalty to new heights—literally.
A Bold Vision by Chrono Aviation
The idea started as a spontaneous spark for Dany Gagnon, co-founder and VP of Chrono Aviation. Based in Quebec City, the charter company noticed a surge in inquiries from fans desperate to get to Raleigh, North Carolina, for Game 2. Initially, people were asking about small groups of four or six, but Gagnon saw a bigger opportunity to create an unforgettable experience.
In a strategic partnership with the Laurier du Vallon travel agency, Chrono Aviation decided to go all-in, chartering a massive 189-seat Boeing 737 to transport the “Army of Montreal” straight to the action.
The Ultimate Fan Package: More Than Just a Flight
This wasn’t just a plane ticket; it was a comprehensive playoff experience. For $1,950 per person, the all-inclusive package offered fans:
- n
- ✈️ A round-trip charter flight.
- 🏒 A guaranteed ticket to Game 2.
- 🚌 Seamless bus transfers between the Raleigh airport and the arena.
The demand was overwhelming. While tickets went on sale Wednesday, the real frenzy began after the first faceoff between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes. According to Gagnon, the seats sold out “like crazy,” leaving no one behind—except for those who didn’t act fast enough.
A “Mini Bell Centre” in the Sky
For Montrealers, the journey is as important as the destination. Fans have described the prospect of the flight as a “mini Bell Centre in the air,” imagining a cabin filled with jerseys, chants, and an atmosphere so intense that sleep would be impossible.
Gagnon, who is also one of the pilots for the flight, is equally excited. He envisions capturing the spectacle of 189 passionate fans in their team colours to send a clear message to the local media in Raleigh: “Hey, we’re coming!”
Flight Logistics and the Road to Victory
The journey begins at Saint-Hubert around noon, with a quick pitstop in Quebec City to gather even more loyal supporters. From there, the Boeing 737 will soar toward North Carolina, delivering the fans directly to the Montreal Canadiens‘ rivals at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh.
As downtown Montreal shifts into Grand Prix mode and the city prepares for one of its busiest weekends, the spirit of the playoffs continues to soar, proving that for Habs fans, no distance is too great when victory is on the line.
