Despite the loss, rookie Porter Martone continued to impress, finishing with nine shots in 18:15 minutes of ice time. Konecny praised Martone’s work ethic and hockey sense, stating, “He knows his role, he knows what he’s good at, he sticks to it and he’s in good areas. He’s only going to get better.”

Ersson’s Streak Ends

Goaltender Samuel Ersson suffered his first loss since the Olympic break, allowing four goals on 19 shots. While solid through two periods, he struggled in the third, acknowledging the need for improvement: “I’ve got to come up with a couple of more saves to keep us in it.”

The Flyers face a crucial stretch of games as they fight to secure a playoff berth. Their next challenge comes against the Islanders on Friday, a game they view as a must-win. As Konecny stated, “Every game’s a must-win at this point.”
