Fiorentina’s Recent Struggles
Just as three consecutive wins seemed to signal a turning point for Fiorentina, back-to-back defeats have halted their revival. Despite scraping into the Conference League’s last 16 after a loss to Jagiellonia Bialystok, Paolo Vanoli’s side suffered a disheartening Serie A setback on Monday, losing 3-0 to Udinese without registering a single shot on target. This marked their seventh goal conceded in just two fixtures.
Currently, Fiorentina sit just above the relegation zone, level on points with Lecce and Cremonese, facing a desperate fight for their place in Italy’s top flight. Vanoli may make several changes to his Fiorentina lineup after a disappointing 3-5-2 formation on Monday. Daniele Rugani had a difficult debut and may be replaced by the returning Dodo from suspension. Fabiano Parisi is suspended, joining injured players Luca Lezzerini and Manor Solomon on the sidelines. Robin Gosens is expected to return from a facial injury, wearing a protective mask. Moise Kean hopes to overcome a shin problem and maintain his place upfront, having scored seven of his eight Serie A goals at the Franchi.
