Who is Connor Seabold?
At 30 years old, Seabold brings veteran experience to the mound, having played for five different MLB teams, including the Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, Tampa Bay Rays, and Atlanta Braves.
During his recent stint with the Tigers this season, Seabold posted a respectable 3.45 ERA over 15.2 innings pitched across 11 appearances. Interestingly, Seabold is a familiar face in Toronto, having spent time with the Blue Jays during Spring Training after signing a minor-league deal, though he was released before the season opener.
The Cost of the Trade: Juanmi Vasquez
To secure Seabold, Toronto parted ways with 22-year-old LHP Juanmi Vasquez. Vasquez had been pitching for High-A Vancouver in 2026, where he recorded 35 strikeouts over 23.0 innings, though his 5.87 ERA suggests he still has significant development ahead of him in the MLB pipeline.
