MDA Space Responds to NASA’s Artemis Mission Adjustments

TORONTO, March 24, 2026 – MDA Space Ltd. These adjustments reflect a renewed focus on accelerating a return to the Lunar surface.

NASA intends to pause the Gateway program in its current form, shifting its resources towards infrastructure supporting sustained Lunar surface operations. This includes repurposing equipment and leveraging commitments from international partners for use on the Moon.

Canadarm3 Program Remains Secure

MDA Space management has clarified that the Canadarm3 program, a key component of the Artemis mission, is a contract directly with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), not with NASA or the US government. Crucially, no changes have been made to any MDA Space contract, and work on the Canadarm3 program is progressing as planned.

The company remains fully committed to executing its existing contracts and actively pursuing commercial opportunities to further expand its reach within the space sector. The Canadarm3 contract is designed to serve multiple markets, including space agencies and commercial clients. This versatility is reflected in the architecture of Canadarm3, which is adaptable for use in low Earth orbit, cislunar space, and directly on the Lunar surface.
