Tim Tebow Shares Faith and Inspiration in New Book
Speaker, entrepreneur, Heisman Trophy winner, and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow continues to inspire through his unwavering faith. His latest book, “If the Tree Could Speak: The Story of the Cross That Saw It All,” releasing February 24th, offers a unique perspective on the story of Jesus Christ.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Tebow revealed that the book stemmed from a period of reflection on how he could better praise Jesus. Inspired by Luke 19:40 – “I tell you, if these [people] keep silent, the stones will cry out [in praise]!” – he began to contemplate the perspective of the cross itself, the closest witness to Jesus’ sacrifice.
From Seed to Sacrifice: The Story of the Cross
“I decided to go back to when this tree was just a seed,” Tebow explained. “Then it grew up, and it had dreams – dreams of becoming a door, a table, or even a throne. But its destiny took an unexpected turn when it was transformed into a cross, initially perceived as a symbol of shame and punishment.”
However, Tebow’s book illustrates how the tree’s perspective shifts dramatically upon encountering Jesus. The cross, often associated with pain and suffering, becomes a symbol of profound love and transformation. The vivid illustrations by Dominican American artist Rommel Ruiz powerfully enhance this message.
A Call to Purpose and Meaning
Tebow emphasizes that the story of the cross resonates with the human experience, where obstacles and setbacks often mask a greater purpose. He believes that God has the power to transform even the most painful experiences into messages of hope.
“Ultimately, the cross, once a symbol of shame, now represents hope all over the world,” Tebow stated. “If you put your faith in Jesus, he does something miraculous and supernatural that changes us from the inside out.”
He also noted a growing desire for purpose and meaning, particularly among young people. “People are realizing that social media followers and likes don’t matter anymore. You’ve got to live with who you are on the inside,” he said. “Christianity isn’t just about being a little bit better; it’s a relationship that takes you from dead to alive, from lost to found.”
The Tim Tebow Foundation: Faith in Action
Tebow’s commitment to his faith extends beyond his writing. Through the Tim Tebow Foundation, established in 2010, he dedicates himself to bringing “faith, hope, and love to those needing a brighter day.” The foundation focuses on caring for those who are abandoned, overlooked, trafficked, and treated as “less than.”
Recent initiatives include collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations on “Operation Renewed Hope2,” resulting in the identification and rescue of victims of child abuse.
A Family and a Future Filled with Hope
Alongside his wife, Demi-Leigh Tebow, a speaker, author, and former Miss Universe, Tebow recently welcomed their daughter, Daphne. The couple resides in Jacksonville, Florida, continuing to live out their faith and inspire others.
