Late-Night Allegations: Trump Targets Obama and Clinton on Truth Social
In a series of provocative posts shared after midnight on Friday, April 24, former President Donald Trump took to his platform, Truth Social, to launch a scathing attack on former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The posts, characterized by high tension and aggressive rhetoric, explicitly accused both political figures of treason.
Trump’s narrative centered around a video from Fox News, featuring host Bret Baier. The segment discussed declassified documents that allegedly indicate former CIA Director John Brennan briefed Obama on a plan by Hillary Clinton to smear Trump during the 2016 election cycle, specifically linking him to Russian interference.
Calls for Prosecution and the Use of AI Media
The rhetoric didn’t stop at accusations. Trump amplified calls for legal action, sharing content from other social media users demanding that those responsible for the alleged treason be prosecuted to “send a message.” To further emphasize his point, Trump posted a meme depicting a MAGA supporter questioning why those who “broke the law” have not yet been arrested.
This is not the first time Trump has suggested such drastic measures. This latest outburst follows a previous instance where he shared an AI-generated video. In that clip, a simulated version of Trump was seen smiling in the Oval Office while a montage of Democratic leaders, including Obama, ironically proclaimed that “no one is above the law” just before a depiction of Obama’s arrest.
Broadening the Attack: The 2020 Election and SPLC
Beyond his focus on Obama and Clinton, Trump utilized the early morning hours to revisit several other political grievances:
- n
- The 2020 Election: Trump reiterated his claim that the results of the 2020 presidential election should be “permanently wiped from the books.”
- Chuck Schumer: He called for the resignation of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer following criticisms Schumer made regarding ICE actions.
- The SPLC: Trump labeled the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as one of the “greatest political scams in American History,” claiming the organization has been charged with fraud related to the funding of extremist groups.
These posts highlight the ongoing volatility of the American political landscape, where digital platforms like Truth Social serve as primary conduits for unfiltered political warfare and the propagation of highly contentious claims.
