Obama Declares: “Aliens Are Real” But Offers a Dose of Reality
Former President Barack Obama recently addressed the age-old question of extraterrestrial life, stating definitively that aliens are “real.” The surprising admission came during an interview with progressive podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen, but Obama quickly clarified that he hadn’t personally encountered any extraterrestrials. “They’re real,” he stated, adding with a touch of skepticism, “But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility—unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.”
The concise comment ignited a flurry of online speculation, prompting Obama to elaborate on his position via Instagram. He explained that, statistically, the vastness of the universe makes the existence of life elsewhere highly probable. However, he tempered this with the immense distances between solar systems, suggesting that actual visitation is unlikely. “Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”
Strong Words on Immigration Enforcement and ‘Rogue Behavior’
Beyond the extraterrestrial discussion, Obama delivered a scathing critique of recent immigration enforcement tactics, specifically the deployment of thousands of agents to Minnesota. He condemned what he described as “rogue behavior” by the federal government, drawing parallels to authoritarian regimes.
“It is important for us to recognize the unprecedented nature of what ICE was doing in Minneapolis, St. Paul… pulling people out of their homes, using five-year-olds to try to bait their parents,” Obama stated, referencing the case of 5-Year-Old Liam Conejo Ramos. He contrasted this with the strong community response, highlighting acts of solidarity and resistance.
Echoes of Past Criticisms
This isn’t the first time Obama has spoken out against federal immigration operations in Minneapolis. Following the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good at the hands of federal agents, he and Michelle Obama issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) accusing the Trump Administration of escalating the situation rather than ensuring accountability. “This has to stop,” Obama urged.
The Trump Administration subsequently announced the winding down of “Operation Metro Surge” in Minnesota, following months of unrest and accusations of excessive force. Border Czar Tom Homan confirmed the operation’s conclusion after meetings with local and state leaders.
Addressing the Trump Controversy
Obama also indirectly addressed a recent controversy involving a video posted by President Donald Trump that depicted him and First Lady Michelle Obama as apes. He characterized the situation as a “clown show” on social media, lamenting the loss of decorum and respect for the office. Trump, however, refused to apologize, claiming he hadn’t seen the offensive portion of the video.
