TTC Service Disruptions: Line 1 & 2 – What Commuters Need to Know
Toronto commuters, be aware! The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has announced upcoming service disruptions on Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) subway lines. These disruptions, involving both weekend closures and early weeknight shutdowns, require careful planning to avoid delays.
Line 2 Bloor-Danforth Weekend Closure
Starting this weekend, Line 2 will be closed between Keele and St. George stations from midnight on Friday to 6:00 a.m. on Monday. This closure will allow for essential maintenance work on the line. During this period, shuttle buses will replace the regular subway service, stopping at each station along the affected route. Passengers should anticipate longer travel times and plan accordingly.
Early Weeknight Closures on Line 1 & Line 2
The disruptions don’t end with the weekend. Beginning Monday, March 2nd, both Line 1 and Line 2 will experience early closures on weeknights for ongoing maintenance.
- Line 1 (Yonge-University): Trains will stop running between Finch and Eglinton stations at 11:00 p.m. each night. Shuttle buses will be available to continue your journey. Regular service will resume on March 6th.
- Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth): Service between Keele and St. George stations will end at 11:59 p.m. nightly. Again, shuttle buses will operate to provide alternative transportation. Regular service will also resume on March 6th.
