Tim Hortons Colour-Changing Mug Recalled Due to Burn Hazard
Tim Hortons is voluntarily recalling its Pink and White Colour Changing Donut Mug, sold between January and February, following reports of cracking and potential burn injuries. Health Canada issued a recall notice on Monday, highlighting the safety concerns associated with the popular mug.
What’s the Issue?
The recall affects a 16oz white ceramic mug featuring a doughnut design. The mug’s interior and handle are pink, and the chocolate chip doughnut decal changes colour to reveal different doughnut designs when filled with warm liquid. Health Canada warns that the mug can crack or break when in use or exposed to hot liquids, posing a significant burn hazard to consumers.
Incident Reports
As of March 10th, Tim Hortons has received 28 reports of incidents in Canada, including one reported burn injury. This prompted the voluntary recall to ensure customer safety.
What Should You Do?
If you purchased the recalled Tim Hortons mug, you are urged to immediately stop using it. Return the mug to any Tim Hortons restaurant location by April 22, 2026, to receive a full refund. The recall notice states that returns may be accepted after this date for a refund as well.
