
Weapons Incident in Nottinghamshire: Teenagers Arrested After Supermarket Fight
Two 16-year-old boys are in custody following a violent altercation involving “bladed weapons” that occurred outside an Asda supermarket in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The incident took place on Friday night, around 23:57 GMT, on Priestsic Road.
Details of the Incident
Police responded to reports of a fight and discovered a 17-year-old boy and two men, aged 23 and 24, had sustained injuries. Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the arrests of the two teenagers on Sunday morning, both on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A thorough investigation is currently underway.
The 17-year-old victim suffered a slash wound to his arm, requiring hospital treatment. The 24-year-old man also received medical attention for an injury to his elbow. A 23-year-old man, located after the initial response, was treated for an injury to his arm.
Police Statement
Detective Sergeant Adam Penn stated, “We do not tolerate violence or those who think it is acceptable to carry or use weapons.” He further emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation, stating, “Following these arrests, we continue to investigate this incident, and efforts are ongoing to trace other people believed to have been involved.”. The police are actively seeking additional individuals who may have been present during the incident.
