Body Found in Detroit River: Possible Identification of Missing Tyler Bojanowski

Ecorse, MI – March 30, 2026 – A grim discovery was made this afternoon in the Detroit River near John Dingell Park in Ecorse. Authorities are investigating after a fisherman located a body in the water around 1:00 PM on Monday.

Investigation and Preliminary Findings

Wyandotte police have not yet officially identified the deceased. However, the physical description and clothing found on the body are consistent with those of Tyler Bojanowski, a 25-year-old resident of Wyandotte who has been missing since February 5th. While investigators believe the body is likely that of Bojanowski, positive identification is pending confirmation from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives have already notified Bojanowski’s family of the discovery. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.

Previous Developments in the Case

The case gained attention when Bojanowski’s passport was discovered at Dingell Park shortly after his disappearance. His truck was subsequently located on Enterprise Drive in Allen Park. Police have been diligently searching for Bojanowski since then, but have released limited information to the public during the ongoing investigation.

The Detroit River presents inherent dangers, and authorities are carefully examining all possibilities as they work to determine the cause and manner of death. The recovery of a body is a tragic development, and the focus now shifts to providing answers and closure to the Bojanowski family.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available. For further details on missing persons cases and safety around waterways, you can visit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
