A Heartbreaking Conclusion to a Desperate Search in Las Vegas

The community and family of Alisa Goods are mourning after a frantic search for the missing New York grandmother ended in tragedy. Alisa, 63, who had traveled to Las Vegas for a much-anticipated vacation, was reported missing on Sunday, August 16, sparking an intensive search effort across Southern Nevada.

After days of uncertainty and pleading for public assistance, family members confirmed on Friday that Alisa had been found deceased. The news brings a somber end to a search that saw her loved ones fly from New York to Nevada to lead the efforts on the ground.

The Discovery Near Harry Reid Airport

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the discovery was made in the early hours of Thursday. Dispatch received a call regarding a woman found unresponsive in a drainage ditch.

The specific location of the find included:

  • The vicinity of Wayne Newton Boulevard.
  • Proximity to the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid Airport.

What Surveillance Footage Revealed

Investigators utilized airport surveillance video to piece together Alisa’s final moments. The footage provided a tragic timeline, showing that Alisa had actually suffered an accident much earlier than initially thought. On August 8, the video shows her falling down an embankment. While she managed to stand back up, she collapsed shortly after.

Tragically, because of her location in the ditch, she was not visible from the street, which explains why the search efforts took several days to locate her despite the proximity to a high-traffic airport area.

A Family’s Devastation and Call for Support

The disappearance caused immense distress for the Goods family. Having last seen her near East Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane, they became increasingly alarmed when she missed her scheduled flight back to New York. The family spent their time in Las Vegas distributing flyers and using social media to plead for any information that could lead to her return.

While the cause and manner of death have not yet been officially released by authorities, the family is now focusing on bringing Alisa home. A fundraiser has been established to help cover the burial and transportation costs.

This is a developing story. We will provide updates as more information becomes available from the local authorities in Nevada.
