Tragedy in Kansas: Speeding McLaren Causes Fatal 3-Vehicle Crash in Kansas City

A quiet Wednesday afternoon in Kansas turned into a scene of devastation when a high-performance sports car, traveling at excessive speeds, triggered a violent three-vehicle collision. According to reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash took place shortly after 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. Investigators have identified the driver of the speeding vehicle as 28-year-old Sidney Kile of Olathe, who was operating a 2019 McLaren 570S.

The disaster unfolded as Kile traveled west on Merriam Ln. The speed of the McLaren was so significant that it struck a 2017 Honda Accord, driven by 37-year-old Anne Wohl of Lenexa, who was attempting to make a turn north onto 34th St. The force of the initial impact was so severe that the McLaren was propelled forward, slamming into a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Aaron Stich, 47, who had been stopped behind Wohl’s vehicle.

Casualties and Injuries

The aftermath of the collision was heartbreaking. Roger Stroble, a 74-year-old resident of Kansas City, Kansas, who was a passenger in the McLaren, was rushed to the University of Kansas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver, Sidney Kile, was also transported to the same medical facility with suspected serious injuries. Remarkably, both Anne Wohl and Aaron Stich escaped the crash without physical injuries.
