Plane Emergency at Orlando International Airport: United Airlines Flight 2323

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) has confirmed to News 6 that United Airlines flight 2323 from Chicago experienced a mechanical issue upon landing at Orlando International Airport (MCO) on Sunday. Passengers were safely disembarked following the incident.

According to a GOAA spokesperson, no injuries were reported. The incident initially triggered a ground stop due to an “aircraft emergency” involving a “disabled aircraft,” leading to departure delays. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) later upgraded the situation to a ground delay around 6 p.m.

Details of the Incident

The airport’s Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter department was immediately dispatched to the scene. Passengers were transported from the aircraft to the terminal via buses.

United Airlines provided a statement to News 6, elaborating on the situation. They confirmed the flight experienced a “mechanical” issue during landing. “Passengers are being bused to the terminal and our team is working to remove the aircraft from the runway,” the statement read, reiterating that no injuries were reported.

The aircraft involved is an Airbus A321, carrying 200 passengers and six crew members, according to United Airlines.

Impact on Airport Operations

The initial ground stop caused significant disruption to flight schedules at MCO. While the ground stop was lifted and changed to a ground delay, passengers should expect potential delays and check with their airlines for the latest flight information. You can find real-time flight status updates on the Orlando International Airport website.
