Pima County Sheriff’s Department Intensifies Search for Missing Nancy Guthrie, Responds to Harassment Reports

TUCSON, Ariz. – The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues after 72 days, with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) increasing patrols in her Catalina Foothills neighborhood due to reports of harassment by a YouTuber. The PCSD is actively investigating both the disappearance and the complaints of harassment.

Increased Patrols Following Harassment Complaints

News 4 Tucson has learned that the PCSD recently attended a homeowners’ association meeting in Guthrie’s neighborhood. Residents voiced concerns about a YouTuber allegedly harassing them. The department confirmed receiving similar complaints from Annie Guthrie, Nancy’s daughter, regarding the same issue. As a direct response, the PCSD has increased patrols in both the Catalina Foothills area and surrounding locations.

Ongoing Investigation and DNA Analysis

Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that the investigation, conducted in collaboration with the FBI, is ongoing. Investigators are currently analyzing a significant amount of DNA evidence and awaiting crucial lab results. Nanos expressed optimism that advancements in forensic science could soon allow for the separation and identification of multiple contributors within mixed DNA samples. The team is meticulously reviewing thousands of clues and submitted camera footage.

Family Plea for Information

The Guthrie family is urging the Tucson community to recall any unusual activity observed on January 11th, January 31st, and February 1st, as these dates may hold vital clues. They emphasize the importance of public vigilance and caution against sending money to anyone soliciting funds related to the case.
