In a sweeping international effort to curb organized violence and narcotics trafficking, law enforcement agencies have launched Operation Hard Ball. This massive crackdown has resulted in the arrest of dozens of individuals linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi crime group, a syndicate whose reach extends across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
At the heart of this operation is a series of severe criminal charges that expose a dark network of political assassinations, extortion, and high-volume drug smuggling. In total, the operation led to the seizure of approximately 1,000 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, and multiple firearms.

The success of this operation underscores the importance of global intelligence sharing. Commissioner Mike Duheme of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) emphasized that teaming up with international partners is the most effective way to target criminals where they operate.
Similarly, the U.S. Department of Justice has made it clear that there is “no safe harbour” for these individuals, with 10 fugitives still being pursued across the U.S., India, and Europe.
