Tragic Morning Crash in Raymond Claims Two Lives

A quiet Friday morning in Raymond, Mississippi, turned tragic following a devastating head-on collision on Highway 18. The accident, which involved an SUV and a pickup truck, resulted in two fatalities and left another person seriously injured.

According to reports from the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), the crash occurred at approximately 4:22 a.m. The impact was severe, necessitating a massive emergency response from local authorities and medical teams.

The Victims and the Aftermath

The Hinds County Coroner, Jeramiah Howard, confirmed that the driver of the SUV, identified as Ursula Hunley, a 51-year-old native of Utica, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her twin sister, Damaris Hunley, also 51, was a passenger in the vehicle and was rushed to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) for treatment of her injuries.

The other vehicle involved, a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado, was driven by 29-year-old Justin Campbell of Petal. While Campbell was initially transported to UMMC, the coroner later confirmed that he passed away from his injuries.

The scale of the accident required a coordinated effort between multiple agencies to secure the area and provide life-saving assistance. The following teams were deployed to the scene:
