The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has issued an urgent AMBER Alert for a 15-year-old mother and her one-year-old son, who disappeared from Converse, Texas. Authorities are calling on the public’s help to locate the pair, who are believed to be in grave or immediate danger.
Who is Missing?
The search is focused on finding Escarleth Vasquez and her son, Alejandro Vasquez. Here are the descriptions provided by law enforcement:

- Escarleth Vasquez (15): A native of Honduras, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and white sweatpants.
- Alejandro Vasquez (1): Approximately 2 feet 10 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.
Details of the Disappearance
The pair was last seen around 3 p.m. on May 9th in the 7000 block of Phoenix Path, near Woodlake Parkway in Converse. The situation took a concerning turn when it was revealed that Escarleth, who was previously in foster care, disappeared abruptly.
According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, the teenager left a mysterious note stating: “I’m leaving. Don’t call the authorities. Send all my stuff back to Honduras.”
Vehicle Information and Investigation
Authorities believe the mother and child may be traveling in a red pickup truck. While initial reports did not immediately trigger an alert, Child Protective Services and the Texas Department of Family Services provided critical information that led the DPS to determine the urgency of the situation, resulting in the current AMBER Alert.
Further complicating the case, Sheriff Salazar mentioned that Alejandro’s father is currently incarcerated, though his exact location remains unknown.
