Supporting New Families in the Ain
In Villars-les-Dombes, Amandine Martin is making a difference in the lives of new and expectant parents. She provides a supportive environment where parents can share their concerns and receive guidance, offering a continuous support system from pregnancy through the early stages of parenthood. Her approach focuses on empowering parents to make informed decisions, particularly when facing unconventional birth plans or postnatal challenges.
“As I went through my own pregnancies, I realized that expectant parents in France often lack adequate support, especially when their birth plans deviate from the norm,” explains Amandine. “And it’s even more challenging in the postnatal period. For example, weight loss in a newborn often leads to immediate recommendations for formula feeding.” She champions a more holistic approach, respecting parental desires and providing evidence-based advice.
