Curling Focus Shifts to Team Events at Milano Cortina 2026
Following the exciting conclusion of the mixed doubles competition, all eyes now turn to the women’s and men’s team events at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. A total of ten women’s and ten men’s teams, representing thirteen National Olympic Committees (NOCs), will battle it out over twelve days of intense competition.
The Games will kick off with the men’s first round-robin session on the evening of Wednesday, February 11th, culminating in the women’s gold medal final on Sunday, February 22nd, just before the Milano Cortina 2026 Closing Ceremony. This promises to be a thrilling showcase of skill and strategy on the ice.
Qualification Pathways to Milano Cortina 2026
The qualification process for these prestigious events involved a multi-stage approach. Italy automatically qualified as the host nation. The top seven NOCs from the previous two years of World Championship competition earned direct qualification. Finally, the remaining two NOCs secured their spots through the Olympic Qualification Event (OQE), held in December 2025 in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. You can find more information about the qualification process on the World Curling Federation website.
