Segun Olubi Joins the Las Vegas Raiders

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders have officially signed unrestricted free agent linebacker Segun Olubi, the team announced on Monday. This addition marks a new chapter for Olubi as he transitions to the Silver and Black after a successful four-season stint with the Indianapolis Colts (2022-2025).

Olubi’s Impact with the Colts

During his time in Indianapolis, Olubi proved to be a valuable asset, appearing in 51 games and accumulating 20 tackles (14 solo). His contributions extended beyond traditional tackling, as he also recorded one pass defensed, one interception, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an impressive two blocked punts. He was a standout performer on special teams, leading the Colts with 30 tackles in that phase of the game over the past four seasons.

In the 2025 season alone, Olubi played in all 17 games, registering 11 special teams tackles, one forced fumble, and another blocked punt. His consistent performance earned him recognition as one of only 13 players in the NFL to achieve 10 or more tackles and a forced fumble on special teams last season.

College Career and Early Years

Olubi’s journey to the NFL began at San Diego State, where he played from 2020-2021, participating in 21 games and totaling 68 tackles (34 solo), four tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two passes defensed, one interception returned for a touchdown, and two forced fumbles. Prior to his time at San Diego State, he honed his skills at Harding University (2019), Saddlebrook College (2018), and the College of Idaho (2017).

Raiders’ Free Agency Moves & A Fresh Start

Olubi’s signing is part of a broader effort by the Raiders to revamp their roster following a challenging 3-14 season, which secured them the No. 1 overall draft pick. The atmosphere surrounding the team is one of optimism and a fresh start under a new regime. The Raiders are actively making moves to strengthen both their offense and defense, as evidenced by recent signings like Pro Bowl center and linebacker Quay Walker. Walker, who previously played with Nakobe Dean, expressed confidence in bringing a winning mentality to the Raiders.

The Raiders are also evaluating other free agent options and draft prospects as they prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they hold 10 selections. Stay updated on all the latest Raiders free agent activity and news here.
