Seahawks Bryant: The Under-the-Radar Player Poised to Shine in Super Bowl LX
As the Seattle Seahawks prepare to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, much of the focus is understandably on star players like quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. However, former NFL wide receiver Michael Bumpus believes a key contributor could be flying under the radar: Seahawks safety Coby Bryant.
Bryant’s Quietly Impressive Performance
While surrounded by a talented roster, Bryant has consistently proven himself a defensive playmaker for the Seahawks. In the 2025 regular season, he secured the second-most interceptions on the team with four, adding a forced fumble in 15 games. This performance builds on a strong foundation of three interceptions and a forced fumble in the previous season, and four forced fumbles as a rookie in 2022. His ability to create turnovers makes him a valuable asset.

Why Bryant Could Excel Against the Patriots
Bumpus highlighted the Patriots’ tendency to utilize their tight ends heavily in the passing game as a key opportunity for Bryant. Veteran Hunter Henry led New England with seven touchdown receptions, while Austin Hooper added significant yardage and two touchdowns. Bumpus believes Bryant’s versatility and discipline make him ideally suited to disrupt these plays.
“I highlighted last week that I love the way the Patriots used their tight ends… To help out with the tight ends, too, I’m looking at a guy like Coby Bryant. Because what they do with these tight ends, they’ll run them on these shallows and these crossing routes, and what lots of teams like to do – the Seahawks do this well – is that crossing route is met with a safety getting downhill and kind of intercepting that crossing route.”
Bryant’s ability to play both in the box and over the top, combined with his responsible play and willingness to make impactful hits, positions him for a strong performance. “Coby Bryant is a guy who’s versatile as well. He can play in the box and play over the top. I think he’ll be good with the tight ends. Coby’s going to have a good game,” Bumpus stated.
Looking Ahead to Super Bowl LX
As the Seahawks and Patriots prepare for their Super Bowl showdown, keep an eye on Coby Bryant. He may not be the most talked-about player, but his potential to disrupt the Patriots’ passing game could be a crucial factor in determining the outcome of the game.
