Josh Hart’s Stunning Victory at the NHRA Gatornationals
Josh Hart made an unforgettable debut with John Force Racing, securing a win at the 57th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville Raceway. Hart defeated reigning Top Fuel world champion Doug Kalitta in a thrilling final round, marking his third career win and first in nearly five years.
The victory wasn’t just a win; it was a statement. Hart set the track speed record on Friday and then blazed down the track with a remarkable 3.733 seconds at 337.83 mph in his Burnyzz/Speedmaster dragster, leaving Kalitta behind with a 3.877 at 319.60.
A Journey Back to the Winner’s Circle
Hart’s path to victory wasn’t easy. After winning his Top Fuel debut in 2021 at the same track, he faced a challenging four-year period. Now, with the backing of John Force Racing, he’s back on top. He qualified No. 1 for the first time in his career and then systematically defeated Dan Mercier, Tripp Tatum, and four-time champion Antron Brown to reach the final round.
“I’m so grateful for everybody,” Hart said. “I got the crap kicked out of me for four years and I’m having a hard time believing this is happening. I have so many people to thank and there was so much energy from these fans today. John Force, thank you for picking me.”
Hart praised the professionalism and communication within the John Force Racing team, highlighting it as the best he’s ever been a part of. He expressed confidence in continued success, stating, “We crushed every record that I have had in my career, all in the first weekend with John Force Racing.”
