Benoit-Olivier Groulx Receives NHL Call-Up with Toronto Maple Leafs

On March 10, 2026, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced the recall of forward Benoit-Olivier Groulx from the Toronto Marlies. This is a significant opportunity for the Quebec native, who could make his season debut in the NHL tonight as the Leafs face the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre. Playing in front of family and friends adds an extra layer of excitement to this potential milestone.

Groulx has been a standout performer for the Marlies this season, boasting an impressive 27 goals and 50 points in just 54 games. The 26-year-old was originally drafted in the second round by the Anaheim Ducks in 2018 and last played in the NHL with the Ducks during the 2021-2022 season, registering a goal and two assists in 18 games. Throughout his NHL career, the former Halifax Moosehead has accumulated five points in 45 games.

Barkov Back on the Ice for Panthers

In positive news for the Florida Panthers, captain Aleksander Barkov participated in team practice for the first time this season. Barkov is continuing his recovery from a torn anterior and medial collateral ligament sustained in September. He skated before the session, wearing a non-contact yellow jersey, and remained on the ice as his teammates arrived.

Initially, Barkov was given a recovery timeline of seven to nine months following knee surgery in September. The Panthers haven’t yet specified if his season is over. Florida is currently facing the prospect of missing the playoffs after a remarkable run that saw them win the Stanley Cup in the past two seasons and reach the final in three consecutive campaigns. Last season, the Finnish centreman recorded 71 points in 67 games and has a career total of 782 points in 804 NHL games. You can find more information about Barkov’s career stats on NHL.com.
