What is NYT Strands?
Strands is a clever twist on the classic word search. Presented with a 6×8 grid of letters, your mission is to identify groups of words linked by a common theme. The New York Times provides a clue to guide you, and once you discover a theme word, it highlights in blue. But there’s more! You also need to uncover the spangram – a word that spans the board and reveals the overarching connection between all the theme words. The spangram is highlighted in yellow.
According to the NYT, themes can range from fill-in-the-blank phrases to categories, synonyms, or even steps in a process. Expect a challenge, as the difficulty level varies, keeping you on your toes!
