Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl Launch Duffy’s Dough to Fight Hunger
Remember Patrick Duffy from “Dallas” and “Step by Step”? Well, he’s trading in the ranch and school hallways for a baker’s apron! Alongside his partner, Linda Purl (known for “Happy Days” and “Matlock”), Duffy is bringing a heartwarming family legacy to Kroger stores with the launch of Duffy’s Dough, a line of ready-to-bake artisan breads with a powerful purpose: to end hunger.
A Legacy Baked in History
The story of Duffy’s Dough isn’t a recent invention. It traces back over 70 years to a generous gift – a hearty sourdough starter passed down from the Alaskan gold rush miners. This starter has been a cornerstone of the Duffy family’s baking tradition, bringing loved ones together around the simple joy of homemade bread. “Duffy’s Dough is a family legacy that lives on in every recipe for customers to enjoy at the dinner table,” Duffy and Purl shared in a joint statement.
Giving Back with Every Loaf
What sets Duffy’s Dough apart is its commitment to philanthropy. 100% of the profits from Duffy’s Dough will be donated to hunger relief organizations. This collaboration with Kroger aims to nourish families across the country and make a tangible difference in the fight against food insecurity.
Meet the Stars & Sample the Dough!
Duffy and Purl will be hosting a meet-and-greet event at the Kroger located at 1310 Powers Ferry Road in east Cobb on Tuesday, offering fans a chance to meet the stars, sample Duffy’s Dough, and support a worthy cause. The event is scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and Kroger will also be making a donation to Meals on Wheels Atlanta. The first 100 customers will receive a Duffy’s Dough product and a $25 gift card!
What’s on the Menu?
Duffy’s Dough currently offers five delicious ready-to-bake options, all starting with that same wild Alaskan sourdough starter:
- Sourdough Loaf
- Multigrain Sourdough Loaf
- Artisan Sandwich Roll
- French Dinner Roll
- Sourdough Demi Baguette
Kroger’s Commitment to a Zero Hunger Future
Tammie Young-Ennaemba, head of communications and public affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, expressed excitement about the partnership. “Duffy’s Dough reflects our commitment to serve customers through food, freshness, and innovation… At its heart, this is about people coming together in a unique and meaningful way to help end hunger.” This collaboration aligns with Kroger’s “Zero Hunger, Zero Waste” mission.
Where to Find Duffy’s Dough
