Luc Senay’s Heartfelt Celebration on ‘En Direct de l’Univers’
Luc Senay was enveloped in a wave of love during his appearance on ‘En Direct de l’Univers,’ setting the stage for a truly special evening. The actor, known for his vibrant energy, shared how he’s learned to channel his spirited nature, a skill soon to be on full display.
Host France Beaudoin graciously stepped aside to allow Luc Senay to be close to his partner, Janie Gaumond-Brunet, highlighting the deep connection at the heart of the celebration.
A Blues-Filled Tribute and a Parade of Friends
As a devoted blues enthusiast, Luc was thrilled when his sister, Louise Senay, and musician Olivier Vinson launched into a rendition of the classic “Got my Mojo Working.” The night unfolded with a beautiful procession of individuals who have shaped Luc’s personal and professional journey. Marcel Leboeuf, Frédéric Millaire Zouvi, rising star Joey Bélanger, Pierre Flynn, Breen Leboeuf, Sonia Vachon, Gardy Fury, and his goddaughter Sarah Touchette (of Cirque du Soleil) all shared heartfelt moments.
A playful moment arose with a mock funeral fanfare for Luc Senay, a testament to his lively spirit! Given his current lifestyle in a recreational vehicle (RV), a special guided tour of his home on wheels was presented by Véronique Cloutier, complete with a unique take on “Mon beau sapin.”
Family, Music, and a Touch of Rebellion
Luc’s cousins, Marie-Claude, Johanne, and Sophie, delivered a charming performance of “Mal à tête,” a family favorite. Véronique Cloutier also showcased her talents as a real estate agent, adding a touch of humour to the evening.
It came as no surprise that Luc Senay loves to celebrate life. He even expressed a desire for a fanfare to accompany his eventual farewell, specifically naming Fanfare Pourpour for the job. The band happily obliged with a lively performance on “Danse des breloques!”
Musical Highlights and a Special Guest
A particularly touching moment arrived with the appearance of Paul Piché, one of Luc’s favourite artists, who serenaded him with “Heureux d’un printemps.” It’s always a joy to see Piché performing his classics.
Following tradition, Luc was given the opportunity to introduce an artist he admires. He chose Auguste, who shared his composition, “Mi-décembre.”
Life on the Road and a Nomadic Spirit
Luc’s love for road trips was highlighted, recalling how Janie Gaumond-Brunet encouraged him to sell his possessions and embrace a life on the road in an RV. Janie paid tribute to their nomadic lifestyle, and the song “On the Road Again” perfectly captured their spirit.
Harry Manx, the couple’s favourite artist while travelling, took the stage with his hit “Good Time Charlie.” Jean-Claude Marsan, guitarist and collaborator with Plume Latraverse, offered a nod to Luc with “La bienséance,” while Virginie Cummins beautifully performed Yvon Deschamps’ “Aimons-nous,” a song Luc particularly loves and wished he had written.
Rock ‘n’ Roll and a Legendary Split
Luc De Larochelière and his band Amère America injected some rock energy into the evening. And in a truly unforgettable moment, Paul Piché recreated Luc Senay’s legendary “split!”
To complete the rock-infused tribute, Breen Leboeuf joined in with a performance of “Chu un rocker” by Offenbach.
Next week, ‘En Direct de l’Univers’ will explore the world of comedian Mégan Brouillard.
