Fans of the dark and twisted world of Dexter Morgan have been reeling since the conclusion of Dexter: New Blood. However, the bloodbath isn’t over yet. The announcement of Dexter: Resurrection has sent shockwaves through the fandom, leaving everyone asking one primary question: When does Dexter: Resurrection come out?

While the exact calendar date hasn’t been etched in stone yet, industry reports and official teasers indicate that the series is slated for a 2025 release. This upcoming sequel promises to pick up right where the previous events left off, ensuring that Michael C. Hall returns to the role that made him a household name.

What is Dexter: Resurrection About?

Without giving away too many spoilers, Dexter: Resurrection is designed to expand the narrative beyond the limitations of the previous revival. While New Blood provided a sense of closure, Resurrection suggests that the “Dark Passenger” still has plenty of work to do. The series is expected to explore the immediate aftermath of the shocking finale of the previous season, delving deeper into Dexter’s psychological state and his survival instincts.

Dexter: Resurrection vs. Dexter: Original Sin

It is important not to confuse Resurrection with the other upcoming project, Dexter: Original Sin. To keep your timeline straight, here is a quick breakdown:

n
• Dexter: Original Sin: A prequel series set in the 1990s, focusing on a young Dexter learning the code from his father, Harry.
• Dexter: Resurrection: A direct sequel focusing on the present-day timeline and the continuation of the main story.

Why the Hype is Real

The enduring popularity of Dexter stems from the unique tension of rooting for a protagonist who is also a monster. With the involvement of original showrunners and a commitment to high-stakes storytelling, Resurrection aims to fix the pacing issues some fans felt in previous iterations, delivering a more visceral and surprising experience.
