Ticketmaster & CashorTrade: A New Era for Fair Ticket Resales
Ticketmaster has announced a significant integration with CashorTrade, a leading fan-to-fan ticketing platform, to expand options for purchasing tickets at face value or below. This collaboration aims to provide a more secure and transparent marketplace for concertgoers, addressing long-standing concerns about inflated resale prices.
What Does This Mean for Fans?
The integration allows verified Ticketmaster concert tickets to be resold on CashorTrade’s marketplace, ensuring authenticity and preventing scalping. This means fans can confidently buy and sell tickets knowing they are receiving legitimate passes at a fair price. As David Marcus, Ticketmaster’s executive vp of music, stated, “Fans deserve more ways to buy and sell tickets at the original price, with confidence that what they’re getting is legitimate.”
CashorTrade: A Leader in the Face Value Movement
For over 15 years, CashorTrade has championed the “Face Value Movement,” fostering a community-driven marketplace built on transparency. The platform has gained traction with a diverse range of artists, including Phish, Stick Figure, Waxahatchee, Umphrey’s McGee, and many others, who appreciate its commitment to fair ticketing practices. Expanding Face Value Options
This partnership complements Ticketmaster’s existing Face Value Exchange, launched in 2019, which allows artists to directly cap resale prices on the Ticketmaster platform. The addition of CashorTrade provides fans with even more choices and control over their ticket purchases.
Key Features of the Integration
- Verified Tickets: All tickets listed on CashorTrade through Ticketmaster are authenticated, guaranteeing legitimacy.
- No Markups Allowed: Sellers are prohibited from listing tickets above face value, ensuring fair pricing.
- Seller Choice: Sellers retain the ability to choose who they sell their tickets to.
- Seamless Transfer: Buyers receive newly issued tickets directly from Ticketmaster within the CashorTrade app.
“What started in the parking lots as a fight for fairness has grown into something much bigger,” says Brando Rich, CashorTrade co-founder and CEO. “This integration gives fans more freedom to buy and sell authenticated tickets at the artists’ original prices.”
Availability
The integration is currently available for select shows, with more events to be added in the future. Ticketmaster concert tickets can now be listed on CashorTrade, offering a new avenue for fans to connect and enjoy live music without overpaying.
