“The View” Hosts Spark Debate Over Controversial Flyby and Trump’s White House Projects
Tuesday’s episode of “The View” ignited a spirited debate amongst the cohosts, centering around two highly controversial topics: the military flyby at country star Kid Rock’s Tennessee residence and former President Donald Trump’s revelations about his East Wing renovations and the construction of what he described as a “tent” for an underground bunker at the White House.
Whitney Cummings Kicks Off the Discussion
Guest cohost Whitney Cummings didn’t hold back, reacting to the Apache helicopter visit to Kid Rock’s home with a sharp observation. “Look, Apache helicopters are designed for war, and I can think of no one who is at war more with self than a white rapper who is 55 years old and calls himself ‘Kid,’ so I see why they thought it was an emergency,” she quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
Joy Behar’s Bold Commentary
Joy Behar followed up with her signature wit, playfully suggesting, “Why didn’t the helicopter make more noise so it could drown out the music?!” The conversation then turned more serious when Sara Haines pointed out the insensitivity of the flyby, given the current geopolitical tensions, particularly in Iran.
However, it was Behar who truly stunned the studio with a pointed remark about the Trump family’s finances. “What’s pissing me off is that the Trump family has made over $4 billion since he first took office,” she stated emphatically, adding with a provocative edge, “With a ‘B’ as in b***h.” The comment elicited gasps that quickly transformed into applause.
Whoopi Goldberg’s Visual Critique
Whoopi Goldberg chimed in with her own surprising observation, focusing on the design of Trump’s planned presidential library. “Did you see the rendition of the library that he’s building?… It looks like a giant penis,” she remarked, prompting agreement from Behar, who added, “It’s ironic because he can’t read, as it is.”
The Bunker Controversy
The discussion then shifted to the bunker, with Goldberg questioning the legality of Trump’s renovations. “The White House is not your building. You can’t just put stuff there. It’s not your house!” she exclaimed.
Sunny Hostin’s Analysis: A Malignant Narcissist?
Sunny Hostin offered a more in-depth analysis, contrasting Trump’s actions with those of former President Barack Obama. “President Trump will never be the type of president President Obama was. Never. And he lives rent-free in his mind. That stark difference, I think, says it all. Says it all about Kid Rock and the fly-by. It says it all about the bunker being built. Says it all about the library. This is probably a malignant narcissist who only thinks about himself and wants to stamp his name on everything as opposed to doing something for the people.”
Hostin further questioned the purpose of the bunker, wondering if it was intended as a refuge for billionaires in the event of a crisis. Behar responded, “Of course, it’s like Paradise.”
You can catch “The View” weekdays at 11a/10c on ABC. Learn more about the show here.
