Rocket Man in Eastbourne: Sam Hughes to Bring Elton John’s Magic to Beach Life Music Festival

Get ready for a musical journey filled with glitz, glamour, and timeless hits! This weekend, the shores of Eastbourne will vibrate with the energy of one of the world’s most iconic performers. While the legendary Elton John may be enjoying his retirement, his spirit will be alive and well at the Beach Life Music Festival.

A Childhood Dream Takes Center Stage

For 29-year-old Sussex singer Sam Hughes, this isn’t just another gig—it’s the culmination of a lifelong ambition. A nominee for the South East Entertainment Awards, Hughes has dedicated 13 years of his life to perfecting the art of the Elton John tribute. Now, he finally gets to step onto the iconic Eastbourne Bandstand, a venue that played a massive role in his upbringing.

“It has always been my dream to perform a tribute evening at the Bandstand,” says Hughes. “The Bandstand is such an iconic venue and a massive part of the history of Eastbourne. I’m really hoping that this performance will lead to a full Elton tribute evening in the future.”

The Yellow Brick Roadsters Hit the Coast

Sam won’t be alone in his quest to bring the Rocket Man experience to the crowds. He will be accompanied by his talented band, The Yellow Brick Roadsters. Together, they aim to capture the theatrical essence and musical brilliance that made Elton John a global superstar.

Local officials are equally excited. Jenny Williams, councillor for tourism and place at Eastbourne Borough Council, emphasized that the festival is a prime opportunity to showcase the region’s best local talent, making Sam’s debut at the Bandstand a highlight of the summer programme.
