Regular Show Returns! J.G. Quintel Unveils ‘The Lost Tapes’ on Cartoon Network
Dust off the golf cart and get ready for some chaos! After years of anticipation, the surreal world of Mordecai and Rigby is making a triumphant return. This isn’t just another spinoff; it is a genuine continuation of the beloved series that captured hearts (and caused countless park disasters) before going off the air in 2017.
The upcoming project, titled “Regular Show: The Lost Tapes,” is set to bring back the magic that made the original run a cult classic. Fans of the series are already buzzing with excitement as we prepare to dive back into the slackers’ adventures.
The Vision of J.G. Quintel
The mastermind behind the series, J.G. Quintel, has expressed his thrill in reuniting the creative team. In a recent statement, Quintel highlighted the joy of returning to the characters he created, stating:
“It’s been so much fun working with everyone on more Regular Show. We’re just making stuff for ourselves and trying to crack each other up. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
This passion is exactly what made the original Regular Show so unique—a blend of mundane workplace humor and cosmic, mind-bending insanity.

A Trip Down Memory Lane: The Legacy of Regular Show
First debuting in 2010, the series follows Mordecai (a blue jay) and Rigby (a raccoon), two anthropomorphic best friends working as groundskeepers. What starts as a simple job usually ends in an interdimensional battle or a supernatural crisis.
The series is celebrated for its colorful ensemble cast, including:
- Benson: The hot-tempered boss.
- Pops: The innocent and eccentric park owner.
- Skips: The immortal, wise handyman.
- Muscle Man & Hi-Five Ghost: The duo known for the legendary “My Mom!” jokes.
- Margaret & Eileen: The love interests and friends who keep the group grounded.
With eight successful seasons and a feature film released in 2015, the return of J.G. Quintel’s vision is a dream come true for animation fans worldwide. Whether you are a longtime fan or new to the park, The Lost Tapes promises to deliver the same unpredictable energy we’ve missed since 2017.
