Phil Rosenthal’s Culinary Journey Continues on YouTube
Get ready to satisfy your wanderlust and appetite! “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator and ultimate foodie, Phil Rosenthal, is embarking on a new chapter with his acclaimed series, “Somebody Feed Phil.” The show is moving platforms, signing a new deal with Banijay Americas that will see the franchise find a new home on YouTube starting next year.
A New Home for a Beloved Series
This exciting partnership launches in 2027 with Rosenthal’s Lucky Bastards production banner. The move will see new episodes appearing on a dedicated “Phil Rosenthal World” YouTube channel, offering both short- and long-form original content. This isn’t just a platform shift; it’s the creation of a digital hub for all things Phil Rosenthal.
The deal also includes Banijay Entertainment’s Banijay Rights, which will focus on expanding the Phil Rosenthal brand across various digital platforms, including, of course, YouTube. This strategic move aims to reach a wider audience and solidify Rosenthal’s position as a leading voice in food, travel, and entertainment.
Banijay Americas on the Partnership
Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “Phil Rosenthal is one of the rare creators who consistently stays ahead of where the industry is going.” He continued, “Partnering with a filmmaker and storyteller of his caliber is incredibly exciting for us. Alongside Banijay Americas and Banijay Rights, we are proud to support Phil as he ushers his brand into its next era. YouTube represents a natural evolution and a place where audiences can engage with his voice and humor as we build a global digital home for Phil Rosenthal World.”
A History of Platform Evolution
This marks the second time Phil Rosenthal has transitioned platforms for his food travel series. He initially hosted “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having” on PBS in 2015. When funding for a second season proved challenging, Netflix stepped in, giving the show a new life as “Somebody Feed Phil.” The Netflix run spanned eight successful seasons, from 2018 to 2025.
Good news for fans – the existing eight seasons of “Somebody Feed Phil” will remain available on Netflix. The most recent season, which premiered last June, took viewers on a culinary adventure to Amsterdam, Tbilisi, Manila, Boston, and other vibrant locations.
Beyond the Screen
Phil Rosenthal has been keeping busy beyond the screen. He recently hosted the highly-rated CBS reunion special for “Everybody Loves Raymond” alongside Ray Romano. He’s also ventured into the restaurant business, opening his own establishment in Los Angeles, Max & Helen’s.
“One of the things I always loved about ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ was that it was free to watch everywhere,” Phil Rosenthal shared in a statement. “We are thrilled to announce that Somebody Feed Phil will move to YouTube, where our message of family, friendship, food, travel, and laughs can reach the most people.”
