Nicole Kidman is stepping back into the spotlight, sharing insights into her life three months after finalizing her divorce from country music star Keith Urban. Despite a period of personal retreat in 2025, the acclaimed actress is gearing up for a busy 2026, with several highly anticipated projects on the horizon.
“I was quiet,” Kidman told Variety. “I had other things going on. I was in my shell.” However, she’s now embracing the future with enthusiasm. “Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’ I have ‘Practical Magic’ with Sandy [Bullock]. I’ll be in full witch mode.”
Returning to the Screen: ‘Practical Magic’ and Beyond
Fans are eagerly awaiting Kidman’s return to the role of Gillian Owens in the sequel to the beloved 90s film, ‘Practical Magic’. Beyond the witchy world, Kidman is also set to star as a medical examiner in the screen adaptation of ‘Scarpetta’ this spring, and is currently filming the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s critically acclaimed series, ‘Lioness’.
When asked about her well-being following the separation from Urban, Kidman acknowledged the challenges but emphasized her resilience. “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” she stated. “What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that.”
Prioritizing Family and Privacy
Kidman is committed to maintaining a strong family dynamic despite the changes. “Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect,” she explained. “I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
The divorce, finalized in January after nearly 20 years of marriage, saw Kidman designated as the primary parent to their two minor daughters, with Urban granted parenting time every other weekend. The settlement included no alimony or child support payments. Kidman initially filed for divorce in September, citing irreconcilable differences.
As Nicole Kidman navigates this new chapter, she remains focused on her family, her craft, and embracing the opportunities that lie ahead. You can find more entertainment news on Fox News Entertainment.
