National Puerto Rican Day Parade 2026: Everything You Need to Know!
Get ready for one of the most electrifying events in New York City! The National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) is returning for its 69th edition, bringing an explosion of color, music, and culture to the streets of Manhattan. This isn’t just a parade; it’s a powerful statement of identity and a celebration of the enduring spirit of the Puerto Rican community.
The 2026 Theme: “Somos Más Que 100×35”
This year, the parade revolves around the inspiring theme “Somos Más Que 100×35” (We Are More Than 100×35). But what does this mean? While the island of Puerto Rico physically measures approximately 100 by 35 miles, the influence of its people knows no borders.
From global music charts and professional sports to politics, business, and the arts, Puerto Ricans continue to leave an indelible mark on the world. The theme honors the resilience, creativity, and excellence of a diaspora that transcends geographic limitations.
Star-Studded Honors and Special Guests
The 2026 edition is set to be one of the most glamorous yet. Leading the festivities as the Grand Marshal is none other than the king of reggaeton, Daddy Yankee, whose global impact on music mirrors the parade’s theme of worldwide influence.
Joining him in the spotlight are:

- Parade Queen: The iconic Dayanara Torres, former Miss Universe 1993 and renowned actress.
- Parade King: The multi-talented actor and musician Anthony Ramos.
The NPRDP will also present prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards to two pillars of the community: Nydia Velázquez, a trailblazing congresswoman and advocate, and Charlie Sepúlveda, the award-winning Latin GRAMMY® trumpeter and educator.

More Than a Party: A Legacy of Advocacy
Since its inception in the 1950s, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade has served as more than just a celebration. It emerged from the advocacy and struggles of the Puerto Rican community in New York, evolving into a vital platform for cultural preservation.
Under the motto “One People, Many Voices,” the event promotes education, arts, and awareness of the crucial issues affecting the Latino community. This year, the parade also pays a special tribute to the Municipality of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, and the state of New Jersey, recognizing their contributions to the heritage.
“Each honoree represents the talent and cultural pride that continue to uplift Puerto Rican communities worldwide,” stated Lillian Rodríguez López, Board Chair of the NPRDP.
