Max Alexander: A 10-Year-Old’s Rise to Fashion Week Fame
At just 10 years old, Max Alexander isn’t building LEGO castles or playing video games – he’s running a thriving fashion label, employing a team, and captivating millions on social media. This young designer is now adding another incredible achievement to his resume: becoming the youngest ever to present a show at Paris Fashion Week. “Just a big deal. Bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger deal than a big deal!” Max exclaimed in an interview with CBS LA. “Because Paris is the home of fashion!”
From Guinness World Record Holder to Paris Fashion Week
Max’s journey began in 2023 when he earned a Guinness World Record as the youngest runway fashion designer. Now, with Paris Fashion Week commencing, he’s breaking barriers once again as the youngest designer to have his own dedicated show on fashion’s most prestigious stage. CBS LA recently caught up with Max as he prepared his latest collection for its debut, a world away from the typical life of a fourth-grader in West Los Angeles.
Sustainable Fashion: A Core Principle
Despite his youthful exuberance, Max approaches fashion with a serious business acumen. His latest collection features 15 dresses, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. “90 percent of my show is biodegradable, recyclable, sustainable, made from dead stock and surplus,” Max explained. “Dead stock is leftover material not used by companies… It would have been in the landfill unless I rescued it.” This commitment to environmental responsibility is central to his brand.
His designs are clearly resonating with the public. A recent bag design sold out within 24 hours, as did a collection of charms he released. Max’s designs aren’t just about aesthetics; they’re about making a positive impact on the planet. “I’m trying to save the environment, in very complicated words,” he shared.
The Dream That Started It All
CBS LA first met Max in 2023 when he was just seven years old, preparing for his inaugural fashion show after gaining a massive following on social media. His mother initially created an Instagram account to showcase his designs, and it quickly exploded, attracting over a million followers. Today, he boasts nearly six million followers who eagerly anticipate his creations.
Max’s passion for design began with a dream – a vision of himself as a dress designer. He even dreamt he was the late, renowned Paolo Gucci. When his mother provided him with a mannequin, his passion ignited, blossoming into the global phenomenon it is today. He recently shared a glimpse of his Paris Fashion Week preparations on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the support that made this incredible opportunity possible.
Looking Ahead
Max Alexander is more than just a young designer; he’s a symbol of creativity, innovation, and a commitment to a sustainable future.
