King Harris Arrested: A Night in Gwinnett County
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – October 18, 2025 – Rapper King Harris, son of hip-hop icons T.I. and Tiny, found himself on the wrong side of the law early Sunday morning. The arrest, which took place in Gwinnett County, Georgia, stemmed from a traffic stop that quickly escalated, involving allegations of speeding, drug possession, and obstruction of justice.
The Details of the Arrest
According to Gwinnett County Jail records, Harris faces multiple charges, including speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, willful obstruction of law enforcement, and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Reports indicate Harris was allegedly traveling at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone when officers initiated the stop.
The situation reportedly intensified when Harris refused to comply with officers’ requests to exit the vehicle. TMZ reports that a firearm was observed inside the car. Following a search, authorities discovered a THC vape pen in Harris’ possession. This incident adds another layer to Harris’s ongoing legal challenges.
What Remains Unknown
While jail records confirm Harris has posted bond, a court date for these specific charges has not yet been scheduled. The reason behind Harris’s initial refusal to exit the vehicle remains unclear, leaving a key question unanswered in this unfolding case.
A Viral Outfit and Social Media Response
The arrest garnered significant attention not only for the charges themselves but also for Harris’s unusual attire: a Pikachu onesie. Harris didn’t shy away from addressing the incident on social media, posting a video on his Instagram account while wearing the outfit. He drew a comparison between the police and “Team Rocket” from the Pokémon franchise, writing, “living a good Pikachu life in Tokyo then come back to ATL and team rocket(F***IN POLICE) catch me wit a master ball and throw me n jail all night.”
A History of Legal Issues
This isn’t Harris’s first encounter with the legal system in Georgia. In 2024, he was accused of nearly hitting a police officer at a Dunwoody gas station, leading to his arrest after an officer detected the smell of marijuana in his car. Furthermore, he was previously subject to a bench warrant in Pickens County for failing to appear in court regarding a 2022 traffic stop involving speeding and DUI charges. Those charges were ultimately dropped in August 2025.
