Is the Hype Real? Everything We Know About the Potential Kagurabachi Anime
The anime community is currently in a state of high alert. A series of mysterious, coordinated teaser visuals have begun appearing globally, sparking intense speculation that a Kagurabachi anime adaptation is finally on the horizon. From the streets of Tokyo to the billboards of New York City, the clues are mounting, and the evidence is hard to ignore.
The Mystery of the Black Goldfish
The campaign kicked off in Japan with a minimalist yet striking aesthetic: a black goldfish motif accompanied by cryptic messaging. This imagery didn’t stay local for long; digital posts quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with fans in Brazil and China reporting similar visuals.
For those familiar with the manga, the black goldfish is far from a random choice. It is a central ability linked to the series’ protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira, making the connection to Weekly Shonen Jump’s hit series almost undeniable.
Decoding the Cryptic Clues: Hex Codes and Hidden Meanings
What makes this campaign particularly captivating is the level of detail provided for the “internet detectives.” A mysterious X account, identified by the string E6B7B5E5A4A9, emerged during the rollout. When decoded from hex to UTF-8, it reveals the characters “淵天” (Enten)—the name of Chihiro’s legendary blade.
The rabbit hole goes deeper. A teaser website featuring the string e78ca9e6b685e98ca6 decodes to “猩涅錦”. While these aren’t standard Japanese words, they correspond directly to the named abilities of the Enten blade: Aka (猩), Kuro (涅), and Nishiki (錦).
When and Where Will the Official Announcement Happen?
All signs point toward JUMP PRESS, an official program associated with Weekly Shonen Jump. Recent teasers for an upcoming presentation featured various motifs, including a goldfish that appeared in the cover of the 2024 Issue #40 of the magazine—the same issue that featured Kagurabachi on the cover.
Interestingly, other items in the teaser suggest a massive slate of announcements, potentially involving other heavy hitters like:
- n
- Sakamoto Days
- Black Clover
- The Promised Neverland
- Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo
A New Era for Takeru Hokazono’s Masterpiece
With the phrase “A new era is about to emerge from Japan,” the marketing team is leaving very little room for doubt. Since its debut in September 2023, Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono has become a phenomenon, winning the Next Manga Award 2024 in the Print Category.
While an official confirmation of the Kagurabachi anime hasn’t been released yet, the scale of this international rollout suggests something monumental. With Volume 11 slated for release on May 1, 2026, the timing for an animation announcement is perfect to sustain the series’ meteoric rise.
Stay tuned for more updates as we decode the path to Chihiro’s journey on the big screen!
